Level 3 courses are advanced course levels. This level of course no longer requires applicants to follow a guided mission construction to aid in the learning, as all of the required abilities are expected to have been learned throughout levels 1 and 2. This level is intended more to help builders gain practical experience which will be useful for either RS Tour mission building or for larger personal projects. Level 3 -T/C is directly related to RS Tour missions with the TRAIN format mission requirement of this level, with the addition of multiplayer co-op to teach builders how to build for varying quantities and abilities of pilots.

Goals of Course Level:

• Introduce multiplayer interaction within a mission
• Teach how to set up TRAIN format mission groups for XvT Tours and/or BoP Campaigns
• Give applicant experience with continuing storylines in mission building
• Give applicant experience for RS Tour quality mission buiding

Lessons

Lesson 1: Mission Grouping

• REBEL.LST, IMPERIAL.LST, MISSION.LST
• Campaign files
• Campaign settings for TRAIN missions
• XvTED method of generating *.lst files

Lesson 2: Multiplayer

• Multiplayer balancing
• Arrivals related to player craft
• Orders
• Briefings/Mission Description/# of players/# of teams
• Global Goals/FG Goals (related to teams)

Lesson 3: Project

• 5 missions of TRAIN format are to be built and co-ordinated into an applicant written and instructor approved storyline. XvT, BoP, or BoP w/Patch can be used. Either faction (Rebel or Imperial) may be used as well. All necessary *.lst files must be included. Lessons learnt through Levels 1 and 2 will be crucial to building and completing the project. The instructor(s) will be available for questions and guidance, as well as testing.

Schedule

• 5-6 weeks (up to one week per mission, with some time for testing and fixing)
• Negligable amount of time expected to be used for lesson material, approximately one day
