Getting Involved in WoW

The VSG participates in the monthly Week of War (WoW) hosted by Battlestats (BSC). To participate in a WoW a person needs two things: a Battlestats account, and the XvT/XWA server where games are set up.

Setting up a Battlestats Account

  1. At the BSC website, click on the "Signup" button at the very top of the screen.
  2. Look through the disclaimer (if you have the time/patience to read it) and click "I Agree" at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Create for yourself a callsign. Try to keep this similar or the same as your RS profile name. It will be easier to award the medals and credits that you will be recieving for flying.
  4. Continue filling out the other fields and then hit register.
  5. Now that you've registered your user, you will need to register your profile with the RS club on BSC. So, from here, click "Continue to Find a Club".
  6. At this screen, enter Club ID 2054. Select Rebel Squadrons when the next screen loads, and then hit "Join Selected Club". Now you are done the BSC portion of getting involved with the BSC WoW.

NRSD Errant Venture (aka the XvT/XWA Server)

  1. First download [2.3 mb] and unzip the server file to an easily located folder.
  2. Next, open the folder that you unzipped the into and run the file "sample.exe"*
    • It may be a good idea to make a link to this file on your desktop for easy access.
  3. Choose a server(usually the default one is used unless the server is down). At this point, enter RS_(name) into the User ID field. Let (name) be the callsign that you used for your BSC account. Then choose a password.
  4. When you hit Login/Register, a window will come up saying it does not recognize the User or Password. Hit yes to create a new user. Fill in the fields and then hit register.
  5. Enter this information into the main screen again and you are good to start flying! Happy Hunting!

* Note: for some people the sample.exe brings up an error for them. If you have this problem, use the sample-noresize.exe instead.
